The new generation
of HOLLFELDER milling cutters

is a successful combination of HSC- and HPC application.

HSC (high speed cutting) → because cutting speeds of 6,000 m/min* 
can be realised with these milling cutters. 
HPC (high performance cutting) → because due to the possible cutting 
depth and feed rate an enormous rate of metal removal [cm3 / min] can 
be achieved.

However this is only possible due to the following features:

• extremely high number of inserts, e.g. 15 for Ø 125 mm
• all inserts µm-accurate axially adjustable
• cutting length up to 12mm
• the cutting forces are optimally received by the prismatic, highly exact pocket seat
• highly positive cutting edge geometries
• the steel base body absorbs vibrations and offers sufficient stability and wearing protection
• very low weight due to the slim structural shape - lower than for milling cutters with aluminium base body!
• exactly balanced tools which in company Hollfelder already begins during construction
• use of different cutting grades is possible, e.g. carbide, CBN, PCD
• little noise development, already in no-load operation, about 10-15 dB(A) lower than in products of our competitors 

Thus the advantages for our customers are obvious: 

• improvement of the workpiece quality which goes along with shorter machining times
• process stability which goes along with longer tool life
• flexibility in different materials
